Andrew woke a happy boy on his first birthday and had a great time opening a few gifts!
We gave him a remote control because our remotes are his favorite thing to play with. He thinks it's a cell phone and has had it to his ear ever since.
Of course, the wrapping was as big of a hit as the gifts!
Later in the day, we got ready for his blizzard birthday party.
One advantage of a blizzard birthday: beer on snow.
A few kind souls braved the snow to celebrate with us, including these fellow one year olds!
Soon, it was time for cake! Andrew was a little a lot overwhelmed by the noise and such, thus the passy, which has otherwise been pretty much limited to sleep and driving.
We continued my family's tradition of sticking the baby's foot in the cake. Everyone was glad he had his own mini cake for this part.
And then he dug in! Delicately at first...
...but soon throwing caution to the wind.
Until, finally, we had to call it quits. Bathtime for baby!
We so enjoyed celebrating your birthday with you, Andrew! We love you!

Elizabeth- You do not know me, but we share some mutual friends (Holland & Emily Leidner)...anyway our boys are not too far apart, and I really enjoy reading your blog. I just want you to know how insanely jealous I am that your baby boy dug into that cake!! My son would not go near his. These pictures are super cute!
