To my darling, sweet, secondborn son:

Today, we celebrate the first anniversary of the day of your birth.  What a wonderful day that was!

You came to us tiny and quiet and totally dependent.  And now you are robust and capable and absolutely chock full of your very own personality.

Your father and I have so enjoyed getting to know you this year.  We love you so.

You bring such joy to our home.

You are so funny already.  I can't imagine what it's going to be like once you can talk.  What great times lie ahead!

I love you from the top of your wavy, golden locks...

...to the bottoms of your sweet toesies.

I love your exploring spirit.

I love your feistiness.

I love your independence.

I love your snuggles and your tackling hugs.

My birthday wish for you is that you will grow big and strong, old and wise, full of faith and love.
