I figure if a child can hit a home run, he can be responsible for some honest to goodness chores. Real chores, not just those pretending-to-help-when-he-feels-like-it chores. Little Guy takes out the bathroom trash, he carries dirty clothes to the hamper, he clears and scrapes his plate, and now...he sets the table.
Not looking for perfection; just contribution!
Meanwhile, this sweet thing is still rightly in the business of creating chores. And he does so very well at it!
The Little Guy remains fascinated by the kitchen sink. He's pretty good about minding the boundaries of water play these days, so his half hour or so at the sink doesn't even make that much of a mess anymore. And I must say, I do enjoy the fact that he is somewhat immobilized atop the counter for the duration of this activity. It's a win-win.
Did someone say immobilized? Not meeeee-eeeeeeeeeee! I'm an explorer!
And a cute one, at that!
I scrambled 8 eggs for breakfast the other morning, and by the time I'd fed all my men, there weren't any left for me! Turns out we're a 10-egg family now.
I can hardly believe how blessed that means I am!

So glad they can eat eggs now! That will make them grow! PS They have gotten so blonde at the pool! And the table setting is better than perfect! Love, Mama
not perfection, just contribution...love that!
I LOVE that you have Andrew doing chores. Putting that away in the "parenting by elizabeth" file I keep in my head :)
