The only thing I could say that I don't like about our summer as pool bums is that I miss out on documenting so much of the everyday play of the children. My hands are too full and too wet to take many pictures. But the other day, I packed my old point-and-shoot and snapped a few pictures of our fun in the sun.
Our membership gets us into several waterparks in the area. Last week, we visited one we hadn't been to since last year.They have built a new HUGE playground/climbing structure.
First the boys had to test out the toddler area.
And the stationary pogo stick. {Best idea ever! Who can actually jump on a real pogo stick?}
Then, it was on to the sand pit.
{This is Buddy Boy's new thing...sticking just the tip of his tongue out, while he thinks something through. I think it's SO cute!}
And after all that, Little Guy had finally worked up his nerve to climb inside the tunnels and tubes. We had a brief episode where he got lost and then got trapped and was screaming his head off as all these big kids from a day camp barreled past. After giving him a couple minutes to try to work it out himself, it was apparent I was going to have to go in. This thing is not built for adult access! I was shimmying up the ladders and through the spinning columns and down the plastic tubes, all the time bent half way over, with Buddy Boy under one arm like a sack of potatoes. I felt like one of the contestants on that Japanese obstacle course show with the horrible voice overs {please tell me you know what I'm talking about!}.
But we eventually figured out a good path through the maze and the reward was this! Over and over and over again! There are also 3-storey curly slides, but I think we'll leave those for another day. Or another mother!
Once we'd worn ourselves out, it was time to hit the pool for a little refreshment.
And relaxation!
I needed to resume my role as life saver, so the pictures end here. Maybe I'll take my camera again one day when the Mister can go with us. I'd love to get some pictures of the boys in action in the pool. Little Guy is doing so great kicking and paddling. He may actually learn to swim by the end of the summer. And he loves jumping off the side of the pool! Buddy Boy spends his time cruising the wall of the baby pool, collecting toys and then carrying them back to the wall drain and sending them on to a watery demise. He squats down low and watches them until he's satisfied that they have been sucked all the way to the back. So funny!
Life as pool bums is pretty great.

Your point and shoot camera did a superb job of capturing fun times at the pool!
