San Antonio Zoo

Over our Thanksgiving vacation, we paid a visit to the San Antonio Zoo.  As I overheard one little boy say, "there sure are a lot of animals at the zoo."

First, my favorites.

Which were a deeper shade of pink than I've ever seen.

Must be some good shrimpin' in San Antonio.

There were lions and tigers panthers and bears, oh my!

Can you see how badly he wants that bird?

A baby monkey!

How Andrew got to us.

Ok, so maybe that's a pelican. But it kind of looks like a stork.

Are you with me on this?

I've never been much of a bird watcher.

Anyway, moving on...

Polly want a cracker?

Wrong bird again?

Check out this big fella!

And these!

They're not winning any beauty contests, but they're pretty cool.

At least Andrew thought so.

Not as cool as a kangaroo, though!

Or a ginormous toad.

And definitely not as cool as Grandma and Grandpa!

The storks are more gray and with that big pocket under their bills, for carrying the baby--at least that's what the one that left you looked like! What a great trip to the best zoo in the country!
