Preschool

Little Guy started preschool today.
We're setting the alarm three mornings a week.  We're carpooling with his best buddy.  We're packing turkey sandwiches and carrot sticks.  We're laying clothes out the night before.

It's all so...school-ish.
And while that's a bit much for me to comfortably digest right now, and while going to school is a bit of a challenge for our shy, sensitive, home-loving boy, the first day was good.
I was on duty as the parent helper, which made the adjustment {for both of us} much easier.  Little Guy didn't work up the nerve to say a single word to anyone all day long and he turned bright red when the welcome song hit the verse with his name in it.  But he did participate to the extent that there was group participation, and I do believe he was the world's most devoted line caboose.  I felt so privileged to be there to see it all.
My hopes for him this year are that he makes a friend or two on his own, that he learns to trust others, that he feels the freedom of self-assurance, and that he gains a sense of all the knowledge that awaits him.
Preschool.  It's going to be good for us.

I love your sweet, shy guy. His timidity mirrors my big girl, too. He will do splendidly and I am forecasting that he will be an excellent teacher's helper!

He looks so cute and so big! Joseph was just like that. First he observed, figured everyone and everything out and then.....Sally hold the door, he let them know him. He has gone though all 26 years this way and it has served him well. Give hime time he just needs to be super sure how everyone will react before he plays his cards!

So cute! I can't believe he's going to preschool! I will be praying that he LOVES it and that all your hopes for him are realized this year! So glad that you were there to help you both with the transition and to get to see his first day!
