Planes, Trains, and Automobiles

Planes at the Air and Space Museum (or, "the Outer Space Museum," as Little Guy calls it).

Trains at the National Botanical Gardens.

And automobiles, uh, on the street.

Seeing the electric train display each Christmas has become a tradition for the boys and me, and I really wanted the Mister to get to witness the excitement.

Unfortunately, that meant waiting in line for 30 minutes instead of cruising through on a weekday.

But I think the wait was worth it.  There's just nothing like seeing your child practically levitate with pure joy.

Buddy Boy was so intent on keeping track of all those trains that every time one went out of sight, the poor thing dissolved into tears.

But he'd bounce right back, as soon as he spotted another train.

All the displays are made out of plant parts...tiny pieces of bark and tufts of moss and tendrils of vine.  It's magical.

And I'm not the only one who thinks so!

We finished off our day with lunch at Air and Space, where Buddy Boy attempted to set the world record in french fry consumption by a one year old.

And a quick spin through the Museum's interactive room, currently Little Guy's very favorite DC attraction.

And then it was home again, home again, jiggety jig!  Just another day in our cold weather museum circuit!
