Good Times

First of all, thank y'all so much for all your sweet words of encouragement and advice and perspective after my post about our almost two-year-old.  I started blogging with the idea that the value would come from what I put out there (the pictures, the updates, the stories for friends and family), but over the last couple of years, I've found that one of the best things about blogging is being able to learn from people who have been where you are.  Although I primarily keep this blog as a sort of online, share-able family scrapbook, I think what brings me back to the computer over and over is the connection and the feedback.  Spending your days at home can be lonely at times and also can endanger your sense of perspective.  To be able to check in with folks online and to hear from folks who check in with me is so fun and refreshing.  Sometimes, I'll run into someone I know (or, as on a few occasions, someone I don't know) and they'll tell me in an embarrassed way that they read my blog.  Like they're spying on me.  Please don't think that!  I'm glad you're here.  And as one of my friends said, chances are I'm reading your blog too!  So, to all of you who commented on that post, and especially to those of you who are very faithful commenters, THANK YOU!  You are awesome!  You lift a girl's spirits!  I hope I can return the favor sometime.

And now I'll stop talking about that.

For every tantrum or bout of obstinance or gigantic mess, there are so many more moments of fun and wonder and happiness.

What we like to do after nap lately:

Have snack on the countertop!
And...what happens when a little boy has snack on the countertop:
What baby's been working on:
What I made for Bunko the other night:
Bacon-wrapped dates, inspired by the hospitality of our friends Lindsay and Josh.  Wrap half a slice of bacon around a pitted date, line 'em up on a cookie sheet covered with parchment paper (turn the edges up so the grease doesn't run off) and bake at 350 for about 30 minutes.  Serve warm or at room temp.  They are delish!

What we wear when we "pway tooooooools":
And don't think for a minute I get a free pass on this one.
Life is good!

Look at Andrew's beautiful hair! It has grown out and looks so sweet. And who would have expected JF to get into that seat so early? He is like Charlotte's Web, "Remarkable!"
