Shish Kebabs, Minus the Shish

Do you love yummy meat and veggie shish kebabs in the summertime?
Me too!
Do you hate threading each little meat and veggie piece onto skewers?
Me too!
Do you wish that you had a grill, but instead live in a city apartment with no outdoor access?
Me too!

Meet the oven-cooked shish-less shish kebab.
This is pre-cooking.  Wish I had an after pic, but we were too hungry!
Chunks of chicken sausage, bell pepper, and Vidalia onion, thrown together in a roasting pan.  Drizzle them with olive oil, sprinkle them with sea salt and fresh ground black pepper.  Broil for 10-15 minutes, until some char marks appear.  Give 'em a stir and bake at 350 for another 10 minutes or so.  Serve over rice or with a crusty piece of bread.  Mmmmmm.

Wondering why I didn't think of this before?
Me too!

You may have changed my life with this! It always requires a great amount of planning to "skewer" with little ones underfoot... and then, the nasty task of removing everything for them. Really, why didn't we think of this before?
