Fiddling with Photoshop

Santa brought me Photoshop for Christmas, so I've been fiddling with photos this morning, in an attempt to figure out how in the world it works!  Where's the instruction manual???

I used MckMama's tutorial on making eyes pop to pump up the eye on the left below.  The right eye is untouched.  Whaddaya think?

Methinks I overdid it a tad, but I can tell this is going to be fun.

Anybody have recommendations for good Photoshop tutorials?

hey! i don't know if you remember when i said i got photoshop on the blog... but anyways it was from thailand and it turned out to be a trial version. long story on that, but anyways, when i was messing around with it (for the month that it lasted) i liked the tutorials on Pioneer Woman. Those were good. Also try Youtube.

Why mess with perfection?

There are tons off sites out there, its just a matter of searching for ones that work for you. Your mind will spin when you try and dig through the results, but they are out there. I used to have some good ones bookmarked, but I can only find Lightroom ones at the moment since I am in that 95% of the time.

Here is a fun one you would appreciate http://coffeeteaphotography.blogspot.com/2000/11/coffeeshop-tutorials.html
She has a lot of actions that do most of the heavy work for you.

There are also A LOT of people out there that blog about Photoshop. So following their blogs will help give you tips. Also don't be afraid to look for tutorials that are geared toward Photoshop Elements. Being the kid brother, everything will be similar.

Oh yay PS!!! Did you get the full blown photoshop or elements? I have elements, thinking it would be easier, and I still have NO idea how to use it. Let me know if you find any of the tutorials easy and helpful.

I echo the Pioneer Woman comment... I read her and MckMama and love them both!

I like the regular blue eye better. It looks more like Andrew. But I love all your pictures!

PS--Aunt Cacky's suggestion is excellent.
