And then my precious baby got swine flu, with an infection in both his ears and his throat. It was horrible, and he was so very miserable.I was still too sick from the surgery to take care of him myself, so my amazing mother carried him to the ER with a 102.5 degree fever and then nursed him back to health, while still tending to me. And regularly administering rounds of "This Little Piggy."
On the bright side, Andrew learned how to fix his own supper. Just kidding...Mama did that, too!
Finally, what seemed like a lifetime later, Andrew's and my health began to improve and my fabulous mother-in-law came to Birmingham to help fly us back up to DC.
Where we were met at the airport by the sweet sight of my darling Jacob. Oh, we were so glad to all be together again.
So...that's why I haven't been blogging as of late. That, and the phones and internet at my parents' house went out for two weeks while we were down there. I tell ya, it was one thing after another. But we're back and we're almost all the way well and life is good.

I'm so sorry you had all these troubles, but thankful that you have four of the most wonderful parents/in-laws to see you through.
Oh my GOODNESS!!! What craziness! Hope everyone is feeling better and getting back into the swing of things! Thank goodness for wonderful FAMILIES!
OH gosh!!!! I'm so glad you are doing better! That sounded rough!
When it rains, it pours! Glad to hear everyone is doing better!!
And we miss you already! Stay well, but come back soon! Love, Mama
oh my, elizabeth! i had actually been thinking just this morning when checking my google reader that it had been a while since you posted. i wish this hadn't been the reason why, but glad to hear that everyone's perked back up and healthy again.
What an amazing Mama you have!! I'm so glad to hear that you and Andrew are feeling better!! It's tough enough to have a sick little baby and can't do anything about it, but it's much worse when you're sick too! You're a trooper!
Oh Elizabeth! I've thought of you often these last few days and had meant to email. I am so thankful you're all on the mend. Reading this post brought me to tears...thinking about how wonderful being back with Jacob was, especially after all you'd been through! (And I know being with your Mama and Daddy was wonderful, too!) What precious parents you have. So glad your Mama was there to take care of all of you and how precious that Jacob's Mama helped get you all home. Praying for continued strength.

Oh my goodness! I am so glad you are both happy and healthy once again. I'm very glad you had your parents there to take such good care of you and Andrew, and I'm glad y'all are back with Jacob now. Stay well!
Geeze! That sounds like a nightmare. I am so happy the both of you are better!
I'm so glad you're feeling better and are back up to blogging -- I missed the (at least) weekly pictures of Andrew. Can't wait to see you guys in January! So soon but so long away still... Andrew will be walking by then! :)
