We Now Return to Our Regularly Scheduled Programming

Well, I've been on a little blog hiatus lately with a terribly sick husband. Jacob caught some awful flu virus and was out of work the second half of this week. So, I've been nursing the sick and the young. It meant I was too busy to blog, but not too busy to photograph!

Andrew and I took multiple trips each day this week to the CVS next door for sick supplies. As soon as I'd put him in the sling, he'd snuggle up and fall right to sleep. Once when I peeked in our way home, I saw him sucking his thumb. So when we got home, I opened up the sling to capture the moment on film, but this was what I found instead. Camera shy already?!

I'm not at all surprised Andrew is attempting to become a thumb sucker, since he adores his passy so much. He loves that thing even when he's so sleepy...

...that it gets very hard...

...to hold on!
Do you think it's too much to ask that Andrew get all his Daddy's good looks, but be allowed to keep these pretty blue peepers?

We had Andrew's first official tummy time session on his play mat last night. He was a bit wary at first. Pretty much just worked on finding that thumb.

But then I gave him a little lift on the Snoogle and he enjoyed it much more. I was surprised to see this trick, though...notice the position in which Andrew was placed on the pillow:

And the position into which Andrew immediately moved himself! What?! He's six weeks old! I thought I had a while before I had to worry about him doing things like this!

And that's not his only new trick! I went to a meeting yesterday for two hours and came home to find that Andrew had started drooling while I was gone! And he's been at it ever since. Since Andrew hardly ever spits up, I'd been wondering what use we'd have for all these burp cloths. Well, our little droolmonster answered that for me!
When it seems like our little guy is changing at the speed of light, I like that I can still imagine him nestled inside my tummy just like this! Pretty wonderful!

Happy February from our happy boy!
