Sightseeing

We've been trying to take advantage of every hour of good weather that comes our way and, thankfully, we've had a fair share of it in the last week or so. The pleasant-enough temps inspired us to take Andrew on the first of, undoubtedly, many sightseeing trips.
Last weekend we headed to the Capitol! Isn't it beautiful just before sunset?
This weekend, we spent an afternoon at Arlington Cemetery. The vastness of the cemetery and the number of graves is terribly sad, but the individual graves, in their indications of service and devotion to country, are extremely inspring. I was so glad we were able to find where my great-grandparents Brunson are buried, on the hill below the Lee Mansion.

We also visited the graves of John and Jackie Kennedy and Robert Kennedy, and then went to the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, where we witnessed the changing of the guard.

Many of the Justices of the Supreme Court are also buried at Arlington.

Andrew was a good little traveler and seemed to enjoy the fresh air.

It was an unseasonably beautiful day, so we walked home from Arlington, by way of the Lincoln Memorial.

Before we could get home, we suddenly became aware of the immediate need for a pit stop. Just one more thing to get used to in life with baby!

After this picture, Jacob mentioned that he could have used my help with the task at hand, but that he sure was glad the moment had been properly memorialized. The dangers of blogging!

Maybe next time you could finish the changing and then have Andrew pose in his clean diaper! And don't forget the Purell sanitizer gel! Love, Mama

I'm in tears over the caption for the last photo!
