One of the things I find most gratifying in daily life is having saved an item for future use and then rediscovering it at just the right time. For example, I love it when I save a really cute gift bag and find it just as I'm about to wrap a present for a friend. Ordinarily I save things with good intentions and find them just as the perfect opportunity for their use has passed (like finding Christmas mugs in the closet where I am putting away the tree skirt for next year). So, on Wednesday, when I opened up a drawer we rarely use and saw my heart-shaped cookie cutters and muffin cups glinting up at me, I was thrilled!
Making sugar cookies with the cookie cutters was a no-brainer, but I wasn't sure how I wanted to use the muffin cups. Last year, I made mini cakes for Jacob, decorated with cream cheese frosting and M&M's. This year I decided, based, in part, on the presence of these bananas in my kitchen, to make heart-shaped banana nut muffins for my valentine's breakfast.
These things, which come from our friendly foil fabricators at Reynold's, are great. I'm sure they have them in the stores again this year--what an easy way to make a Valentine's Day treat!
Batter up!Heart-shaped yumminess for tomorrow morning.
Here's hoping Jacob doesn't read the blog today! Happy Valentine's Day, everyone!

You've become quite the domestic! I'm impressed; Uncle Kent is getting hot sauce that I ordered on line. Somehow that's not quite as romantic.
Happy Valentine's Day, darling Baby Girl! You are our Valentine always!XXOO Check your mailbox.
