Wanting What I Have said...

I've been reading like a mad woman recently...lots and lots of Christmas books...here are a few I have really enjoyed:

Anne Perry's Christmas Mysteries (Two in one book: A Christmas Guest and A Christmas Secret) I actually got up at 4:30 this morning to finish A Christmas Secret...I had thought about it all night and just had to know how it ended...)

Dashing Through the Snow by Mary Higgins Clark and Carol Higgins Clark (a fun mystery read)

The Shoe Box by Francine Rivers (a VERY short read...like 30 minutes...but a fun little story...made me cry)

Christmas in My Heart by Joe L Wheeler (a collection of short stories about Christmas...I read it last year and enjoyed it)

Hope that give you a few Christmas-y fun reads/ideas.

I just read Undomestic Goddess by Sophie Kinsella and really liked it. It's a nice fluff, chick lit read. If you want a long, weighty read, I also really like The Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follett. I just gave it to Justin and he's addicted, been up til 2 every night reading it.

Goodness, I can't believe I'm going to recommend this series after the previous recommendations....BUT, I've loved the Twilight series. I know, I know, VAMPRIRES...but it's not.
It's been an easy read for me since I don't have TONS of extra pleasure reading time on my hands. But this one definitely makes me want to keep picking it up.
I had some high expectation for these books (b/c I was doubting the whole vampire thing) and they have more than lived up to it.
Now, if I can just find a couple of hours by myself and a babysitter to go and see the movie!! :-)

Hi Elizabeth! Julie Dreher Goodkind here - I am so happy to hear you guys are doing well and expecting a little bundle soon.
Three Cups of Tea is a fantastic, inspiring book you should look into. It's a true story about one American man's struggle to promote peace through building schools open to girls in remote areas of Pakistan and Afghanistan. You may have heard of it already, but definitely worth reading. Good luck in the coming weeks!

I really enjoyed Nineteen Minutes and My Sister's Keeper. I also enjoyed Redeeming Love. Unlike the rest of the world, I have not enjoyed the Twilight series, so I won't vote for that one!! :)

I finally got around to reading A Prayer for Owen Meany by John Irving. It may be the best book I've ever read.

Also, I think you'd really like Peace Like A River. I can't remember the author.
