Day Trip to Annapolis

Morning sickness has made me a very poor travel companion as of late, so for Memorial Day weekend, Jacob and I decided to play it safe with a day trip to Annapolis, just 30 miles away. We had a really great time! Here we are on the dock by the Chesapeake Bay, at the beginning of the day:

We took a sightseeing cruise that featured an up-close view of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge, an engineering wonder that has always interested Jacob. The cold weather has finally departed from this northernly region (I think!), but it was still pretty chilly on the boat!

Jacob and the Chesapeake Bay Bridge--it's over 4 miles long!

After the cruise, we toured the Naval Academy grounds, and took a little stroll over to the Carroll House, the family home of Charles Carroll, the only Catholic signer of the Declaration of Independence.

We then shopped a bit in the cute Histroic Distric and made our way to the State House.

We topped the day trip off with a great dinner at Aqua Terra, an Asian seafood fusion restaurant. Wasabi crabcakes are surprisingly good!

Happy Memorial Day!
