pretty, happy, funny, real

Some time back, after a down in the dumps-ish sort of post by yours truly, where I was feeling just a bit run over by motherhood, a friend recommended that I check out a blog called Like Mother, Like Daughter.  She said it was a nice place to read good words from a mother who had been in the trenches and emerged gracefully{or something to that effect}.  Boy, is it ever!  Leila has all kinds of good advice and wisdom to share.  And she's just so funny to read.  A real inspiration to me as I go about being wife and mother to my little family!

This week, she and her girls are starting a blog link-up, asking people to post pictures of daily life--be they pretty, happy, funny, or just real.  Thought I'd join in, just for funsies.

I'll start with the pretty...a few remaining cherry blossoms, caught in their pinky prime over the weekend.
The happy...a pause in the middle of a game of catch for a quick kiss of baby's toes.  They are awfully kissable.
And the funny/real...a trip to the petting zoo this week, where Little Guy somehow--and suddenly!--became a bit less dressed.  And hadn't a clue.
Thanks for the encouragement, Leila and daughters!

  1. Those pullups can sometimes get a little hard to handle! :)

It makes an adorable picture though.

Once, I was putting my then three year old in the cart... she was wearing a lovely dress, and didn't have underwear on. sigh.

  3. The kisses! So sweet! My 3 year old only manages to get his underwear on half the time, and half the time he's "commando!"

  9. I love Leila's blog and read it often. I was immediately drawn to your blog because we have the same last name! And it's an unusual one at that! I have 7 kids so I totally get the pull up around the leg!
